Fall-ness, Lots of Pictures, and Cookies

I'm not even going to pretend that I didn't go overboard with fall pictures. I did. There's excessive amounts here. And I'm okay with it. There's also a lot of other pictures. So in general, there are lots.

The cats doing a piggy impersonation.

I went to the Rec Park with Bet and the kids last week before story hour at the library, and the leaves were gorgeous on the lake!

The library, looking all imposing and stuff.

Yay books!

Bet and I went on a drive last week.

The girls were using their wiffle bats ($0.20 at the dollar store!) as banjos. :D

Very bright trees, very green grass, very black horse.

A lot of these look really similar. And lovely.

Bethaney, Tori, the kids, and I went down to Clover's for the weekend since Evan and Justin are in NH, so Clover and Bet wanted to be work-widows together. So on Saturday, we went to the farmer's market and then to Carousel. I loved the farmer's market. For these reasons:
1.) Fruit, vegtables, and flowers to take pictures of!
2.) People EVERYWHERE. I like when you go somewhere and people are swarming. Not as in "I'd like to live in a city," but as in "I wish there were more places where it was really crowded near home."
3.)It was chilly and windy, so it was quite fabulous!
           4.) The buildings were cool.
5.) They had a seafood place that smelled so good I almost died. Someday I want to go near lunch so I can eat there.

Gilbert boy!

Clouds!!!

The kids didn't like the cold and wind as much as I did. :D

TONS of apples everywhere.

There were so many mums around, it was ridiculous. In a very good way.

Mhmm.

The bouquet Clover bought.

Ruffle-y!

It was the Carousel's 21st years-of-being-open weekend, so there were free rides. The kids took advantage of that. :D

My stars she's cute.

Lincoln and Gilbert got to ride too. :)

He thought it was HILARIOUS to put his hand in the horses mouth and pretend it bit him.

My favorite horse. :) Even though it's head is pretty hideous in a thousand ways.

Lily the goober.

Rilla got to ride on the "elegator" AND the "esclater."

Texas Roadhouse on Sunday!

I got a sweet tea! And a sirloin and mashed potatoes and seasoned rice. SO good!

Gilbert playing peek-a-boo. :)

I love them!

Lily playing with her jacket. When we were broken down on the highway. That was a fun ordeal! The 3 hour ride took 6 hours and we had to move our luggage twice. It was lame.

This week has been good, but I haven't had Bet's camera. So. No pictures. I did find the charger for dad's camera, so I can take pictures on that. None of the ones I took the other day really turned out, though.

Yesterday I made cookies so I could take some to Mikayla's tonight. I got the recipe from Bet, and they're the best chocolate chip cookie's I've ever had, excepting Connie's. But no one else can make hers like she can. So this is next best. :)

            Chocolate Chip Cookies:
         1/3 c butter
         1/3 c shortening
         1 egg
         1/2 c sugar
         1/2 c brown sugar
         1 tsp. vanilla
         1 tsp. baking soda
         1/2 tsp salt
         1 1/2 c flour
         1 1/2 c chocolate chips
Cream together the butter, shortening, egg, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla. Add in baking soda, salt, flour, and chocolate chips. Mix well. Put on greased cookie sheet, and bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes.
I made a double batch, and it made 3 big cookies. So a single recipe will likely make about 18 large cookies.

I'm going to Mikayla's for her birthday party in a couple hours. Tonight the Weavers are coming, and then tomorrow Owen and Ashley are having the foundation poured for their house!!!!! So tomorrow I'll attempt to help somehow. And if I just fail, I suppose I'll resort to making warm food.

  2. Sweet pictures. And I love the background, but it's hard to read the white font. But maybe that's because I'm reading it in the glare of the afternoon sun right now. I like the cat piggie-impersonators!

  3. Haha yeah that's a typo. It was really 36 big cookies. :D And the font's grey. So it might just be the sun. Haha for cat's they're ok I guess!

  4. Oh thank you! I'm not sure how good they are, but I definitely love taking them!
